I won’t be throwing some sensational recommendations at you, I don’t think that I am competent enough to do that. I won’t call myself a bookworm either, this title will definitely go to my sister. But I love reading, that’s my way to explore another world, to meet new fictional characters, to enter a new reality, or let’s be honest, to escape the one I live in. Isn’t that one of the main reasons we read? I always was more of a fiction fan but lately I started exploring and discovering that I enjoy Sci-fi and biographies, self-improvement and motivational stuff, or even poetry (shout out to my friends who always share their findings of a good book with me).
I was scrolling through Pintrest (follow me: Ivanna Pavliuk), and came across some posts about books, I immediately created a board for books and added those interesting pins.
My discovery was 2017 Reading Challenge. If you haven’t heard about that or you are out of ideas what to read, you should definitely check it out.
Though I have a long list of classics and new releases that I want to get my hands on, but I decided to accept the challenge and spice up my choice of readings. We usually choose a book by the cover, or genre, or author. Why not to try a new strategy? When have you picked up a new book just because it has one of the four season in its title or because it was written by or about a person with disabilities? Huh, an interesting way to chose a book, you never know what you will find when you turn the first page.
So let’s dive into it.
For those who are Gilmore Girls fans:
You can easily find a Rory Gilmore reading list, which seems to me even a bigger challenge (just looking at the number of books) but it is all sorted out with all the titles and authors. Out of 339 books you will definitely find something for you. Classics, relatively new releases, fiction, philosophy books, and more and more others. I did cross out a couple of my favorites right away, such as Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Pygmalion by George Bernard Show, and, of course, a couple of Harry Potter books. ✅ Interestingly, there are only a couple random Harry Potter books, not the whole series, not even in a chronological order. 🤔
Anyways, I’m planning to complete that list too, but that’ll probably take a bit longer than 2017. What are your reading plans for 2017? 📝
